Kollmorgen exclusive Cartridge DDR servo motors combine the performance advantages of a frameless motor with the ease of installation of a full-frame motor. They feature an integrated, factory-aligned high resolution feedback device and a unique bearingless design that couples directly to the load, using the machine’s own bearings to support the rotor. Most models can be installed in under five minutes.

Kollmorgen AKM Washdown and Washdown Food Series motors are available in frame sizes 2 through 6. These innovative motors incorporate our industry-leading AKM electromagnetics within a housing protected by a 2-K coating and IP67-rated seal configuration. Stainless steel hardware is used on all precision interfaces. The food-grade model incorporates greases that are safe for incidental contact and consumption.

With the Gear Motor AKM62K-BK17 in the Washdown Food version is made for most transport and rotation applications in the food, beverage and packaging industries.
This is based on combining an AKM servo motor with highly efficient gearheads. The main advantages of the ready-to-install drive units with a consistent, hygienic design include: significantly reduced cleaning times due to smooth and water-repellant surfaces, low energy costs thanks to the highly efficient motor/gearhead combinations, as well as simplified design options for machines implemented by means of space-saving assembly without additional stainless steel casings.
